Introduction
 

The MSc in Family Office Management (MScFOM) equips professionals with the specialized knowledge, skills, and ethical mindset needed to excel in the growing family office sector. To achieve this, the programme ensures graduates:

  • Possess in-depth expertise in family office structures, governance, wealth management, and intergenerational succession planning, with a strong focus on the unique needs of ultra-high-net-worth families

  • Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge—including philanthropy, impact investing, technology, and legal frameworks—to deliver holistic and innovative solutions for family offices

  • Demonstrate the leadership, communication, and compliance skills required to serve as trusted advisors, managers, or consultants, effectively navigating the complexities of family dynamics and global regulatory environments.

Admission Requirement

Applicants should possess:

  1. a bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline from a recognized university or comparable institution; or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent; or

  2. Hold a bachelor's degree in a non-business discipline#
    # Note: Successful applicants under this category will be required to complete a series of self-paced online preparatory modules and attend a mandatory one-day pre-term bootcamp, covering foundational concepts in accounting, finance, and management.


Applicants whose first language is not English, and whose bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) was awarded by an institution where English was not the medium of instruction, must fulfil one of the following requirements:

a) IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5; or
b) TOEFL (iBT): A minimum score of 79; or
c) Other approved tests: An equivalent score from another recognized English proficiency test

FAQ

1. What is the application deadline?

Application for the 2026 intake has already started. The application deadline will be on April 2026.
 

2. Is the admission interview mandatory?

Yes, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend admission interviews online.
 

3. Am I required to take TOEFL or IELTS test?

If English was not the medium of instruction for the first degree, applicants are required to provide evidence of English proficiency, e.g. English standard with a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based) or IELTS overall band score of 6.5 or qualifications deemed to be equivalent.
 

4. Can I apply for scholarship?

The MScFOM offers 3 types of scholarships.
(1) International Postgraduate Scholarship is offered to outstanding international students. Scholarship recipients will get full tuition waiver plus HK$100,000 living allowance (approx. US$12,820). Eligible international applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarship based on their all-round record and interview performance.
(2) Entrance Scholarship will be provided to students with outstanding academic backgrounds and public examination results. Applicants who submit completed applications before the deadline of the first round admission will be considered for the scholarships automatically.
(3) The Diversity Contribution Scholarship is attributed to new entrants who can enhance the diversity of the programme. Applicants are assessed on a broad range of criteria, including international exposure, cultural experiences, overseas education, work experience, special achievement and talents. The scholarship amount ranges from half tuition waiver to full tuition waiver.
